Price of silver: what is today's quotation?
Silver is a precious metallic element that, in its natural state, is white and shiny. As well as being used to make jewellery and coins, the chemical-mechanical properties of its inorganic compounds and alloys allow it to be applied in various sectors of the economy.
Despite the use of this transition metal by a growing number of industries, the global silver market is extremely modest when compared to other metals.
The value of silver varies according to transactions carried out on the stock exchange. The international price of pure silver is set by the exchange in US dollars per ounce (approximately 28 grams).
