IS IT POSSIBLE TO BUY A CUSTOM JEWEL OR ORDER ONE?

Yes. At Loja do Ouro we create personalised jewellery and bespoke pieces, developed specifically in accordance with each customer's taste and preferences.

Our team of goldsmiths oversees the entire process — from initial design concept through to final execution — ensuring that every piece is unique, authentic and hallmarked by the Portuguese National Mint and Official Hallmarking Authority (INCM).

You can personalise an existing piece (by adjusting the size, finish or stones), or commission an entirely new design — ideal for special occasions such as engagements, weddings or anniversaries.

To proceed with the production of a personalised piece, a deposit of 50% of the total value is required upon order confirmation. The remaining balance is due at the time of delivery or dispatch.

Orders for personalised jewellery may take between 5 and 20 business days to complete, depending on the customisation requested. The customer will always be informed of the estimated turnaround time before production begins.

For engraving requests, work is generally completed within 48 hours, depending on the level of detail required. Turnaround times may be longer during peak periods such as Easter, Christmas and Mother's Day.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO ENGRAVE JEWELRY?

Yes. We offer a personalised engraving service on rings, wedding bands, medals, scapulars and other articles. You can engrave names, initials, dates, geographical coordinates, symbols or short messages, subject to the size and available space on the piece.

Engravings are carried out using precision laser equipment or traditional goldsmithing techniques, depending on the type of jewellery and the desired finish.

For personalised engraving requests, the standard turnaround time is up to 48 hours, though this may be slightly longer during periods of higher order volume, such as Christmas, Easter or Mother's Day.

Once we have reviewed your idea or any reference photos you provide, our team will present a detailed proposal including the estimated cost, production timeframe and materials to be used.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO CREAT A CUSTOM JEWEL?

The average production timeframe varies depending on the type of piece, design and materials involved. As a general guide, the process can take between 10 and 30 business days, from quote approval through to final delivery.

Pieces involving complex engravings, stone setting or an exclusive custom design may require additional time — however, our team will always inform the customer of the expected timeframe before production begins.

DO YOU MAKE WEDDING RINGS UNDER ORDER?

Yes, wedding bands can be made to order, with a personalised quote for each commission, ensuring every pair is crafted to measure and tailored to the couple's preferences.

You can browse the available designs in our catalogue or, if you have a specific design in mind, simply send us a photo or reference image and we will prepare a detailed quote accordingly.

To proceed with a quote for bespoke wedding bands, we simply need you to provide:

  • The desired design or reference;
  • The ring size for each band;
  • The carat (e.g. 19.2ct or 18ct gold) in which you would like the pieces made.

The average production time is approximately 3 weeks, depending on the design and any customisations requested.

Para elaborarmos o orçamento e iniciar a produção, o cliente deve indicar:

  • Os quilates pretendidos (ex.: ouro 19,2k ou 18k);
  • O tamanho do anel;
  • O modelo ou referência desejado;
  • A cor das pedras a aplicar;
  • E os desenhos, símbolos ou inscrições que pretende que sejam gravados nos aros do anel.

Como existem centenas de cursos diferentes — incluindo variantes pré e pós-Bolonha —, é da responsabilidade do cliente fornecer todas as informações e referências corretas sobre o curso em questão, para garantir a produção exata do modelo pretendido.

Todos os anéis de curso são produzidos artesanalmente mediante pedido e orçamento personalizado, e certificados pela Casa da Moeda, assegurando autenticidade e qualidade.

O prazo médio de produção é de aproximadamente 3 semanas, dependendo da complexidade e dos detalhes da personalização. Caso pretenda oferecer um anel de curso na altura da Benção das Pastas / Queima das Fitas, deve fazê-lo com bastante tempo de antecedência, pois existe um acréscimo substancial de pedidos de encomendas nessa época do ano (geralmente Maio, pelo que deve solicitar a execução em Janeiro/Fevereiro).

Is it possible to customize silver jewelry?

Yes. We also personalise and manufacture jewellery in 925 Silver (Sterling Silver), with options for engraving, matte or polished finish, rhodium plating and stone setting. The process follows the same quality and certification standards applied to our gold jewellery.

Can I see the design before production?

Yes. Once the quote has been approved, we present a sketch or digital model (mockup) for the customer's approval before production begins. This ensures that the final result corresponds exactly to your vision.

Can I return or exchange a custom made jewel?

In accordance with current legislation, personalised, engraved or bespoke pieces are not eligible for return or exchange, except in cases of verified manufacturing defects. Prior to production, the customer approves the design, quote and all details of the piece, ensuring full transparency throughout the process.

Should any adjustment or correction be required after delivery, our after-sales team will be happy to assist, subject to a quote.
